Despite the cliffhanger that season two ended on, this show is over. So what happened? Well…
Talk about disrespecting the material… HALO positively refused to give its gaming fans an accurate take on the world, with the #1 point of contention being, bad writing/storytelling. And the 2nd being the fact that Master Chief actor, Pablo Schreiber, would not leave on the iconic helmet for more than brief sequences. When that’s Master Chief’s whole thing in the game.
BUTT! That’s not all. The first season involved Master Chief having sex with a human Covenant prisoner of war. And The phrase “Master Cheeks” was borne out of the frequent bare-ass nude scenes given to the hero never seen outside his armor in the actual game.
Season 2 did improve in some ways, and Master Chief did keep his pants on. But HALO was only “okay” at best, and it certainly was not getting the viewership numbers of the first season, as the gaming audience had mostly given up on it. And while the producers are trying to find a home for the show elsewhere, it looks like HALO is probably gone for good.
