This morning the first trailer for Pokémon: Detective Pikachu released and it shows the world of Pokemon in a whole new way, one that’s surprisingly interesting while very silly. Pokémon: Detective Pikachu revolves around the relationship between Tim Goodman (played by Justice Smith) and Pikachu (voiced by Ryan Reynolds) that for some reason Tim can understand. Together the two will search through Ryme City to learn what happened to Tim’s missing father.
I think we all knew I'd wind up as a miniature detective repeatedly saying the same two words. Just didn't think it'd be this soon. #PikaPika #DetectivePikachu pic.twitter.com/L4iB760fJO

It’s quite interesting to see the world of Pokémon come to life, I don’t think a Hollywood live-action adaptation of Pokémon is something I would have ever expected to happen growing up. We knew Detective Pikachu was in the works but I kept questioning if I would have any interest in watching it and…well I kinda do.
Pokémon: Detective Pikachu will hit theaters on May 10, 2019.
