“ONLY MURDERS IN THE BUILDING”… IN LOS ANGELES?

MINOR SPOILERS IF YOU AREN’T CAUGHT UP…

The HULU hit show is coming to La-La Land y’all … The fourth season will see the central trio of Oliver, Mabel, and Charles travel to Los Angeles before returning back to The Arconia to hunt down Sazz’s killer.

And in addition, Eva Longoria is a new character announced for the comedy’s next installment, joining Molly Shannon.  Longoria will portray a high-powered Los Angeles businesswoman, who finds herself drawn into the world of Sazz Pataki’s (Jane Lynch) murder investigation.

Also returning is Merrill Streep, though I hope in a smaller role. She was too prominent last season, and I prefer to spend more time with our core three (Steve Martin, Martin, Short, Selena Gomez) given the small episode count each season.

Season four of the hit comedy show will pick up where the previous installment ended, with the murder of Charles’ (Martin) longtime double Sazz, who was shot in the final moments of the season three finale. But gone doesn’t mean forgotten. As fans of the show know, murder victims show up a lot during the course of an investigation. So we’ll probably see more Sazz than we’ve ever seen before.

“We’ve loved writing Sazz so much, and that’s the beauty of the show is, you get a lot more time with the victims,” co-showrunner John Hoffman told The Hollywood Reporter.

“They’re not gone when some ill fate happens to them. And that’s, I think, also why Jane said she was excited because it’s a good opportunity to go deeper with Sazz and find out what the whole big life and everything else was with her and the world of stunt doubling.”

And while a return date is yet to be set, season 3 came out in August, so my guess is that the Sazz murder won’t be solved until late summer.
