Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is set to release worldwide next week for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC. While early review scores for the game have been excellent, The Phantom Pain could in fact be the last Metal Gear game developed by Hideo Kojima, after the falling out between Konami and Kojima.
When news broke out that Konami had gone to great lengths to remove any traces of Hideo Kojima and Kojima Productions from the MGS V cover, it would be the first Metal Gear Solid game not to feature Kojima’s name on the cover since Metal Gear Solid was released for the PlayStation 1 back in 1998, but one retail store in Australia has decided to remind fans, that MGS V is a Hideo Kojima game.
The image above comes from retail chain JB Hi-Fi, the photos have been shared on Twitter, which was later retweeted by Hideo Kojima. There are quite few different photos out there, from the different stores you can see on Kotaku.
Of course while Hideo Kojima’s name is removed from the box, his name is all over the game. Personally I was thinking of making my own little a Hideo Kojima game sticker for the games box, but this is a lot cooler.
