Square Enix’s Final Fantasy VII Remake seems to be having some problems, it’s been jokingly rumored that the game won’t be released until 2023 at this point after Square Enix has fully undertaken the project in house after issues with developer Cyber Connect 2 (.Hack, Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm series, Asura’s Wrath).

While we patiently wait for an actual release date, some good news was recently announced via Twitter user aibo revealed that Legendary Final Fantasy composer Nobuo Uematsu will be returning to work on the remake.

Here is a translation of the Japanese text above from a member of the Final Fantasy VII fansite, The LifeStream.

While Uematsu left Square Enix in 2004, he would return often as a freelancer working on various tracks including the ending theme of Final Fantasy XII “Kiss Me Good-Bye” and Final Fantasy XIV.
