At NEW YORK COMIC-CON …Alex Kurtzman appeared remotely from the Toronto set where they are currently filming the first season of the new series, STARFLEET ACADEMY… He appeared alongside cast members playing cadets including Sandro Rosta, Kerrice Brooks, Bella Shepard, George Hawkins, Karim Diané and Zoë Steiner.
And he announced that Tatiana Maslany (best known for Orphan Black and She-Hulk) will be a recurring special guest star in season one. Maslany joins the previously announced high profile cast members, including Oscar-winner Holly Hunter and Oscar-nominee Paul Giamatti.
STARFLEET ACADEMY GETS A SECOND SEASON ORDER BEFORE THE FIRST SEASO COMPLETES PRODUCTION
Kurtzman also announced that Paramount+ is already excited about how things are going for the new series and have now given it the greenlight for a second season. Shooting for the first season began in August at Pinewood Studios in Toronto. No release date has been announced, but Kurtzman has previously said the show may not arrive until 2026.
