Showtime confirmed that Kyle MacLachlan will return in the role of Agent Cooper in the new Twin Peaks series. After his executive session for the Television Critics Association, Showtime president David Nevins answered a few more questions about Twin Peaks. For one, MacLachlan is only the first original cast member to be announced.
“I expect he’s not the only original [cast member],” Nevins said. “I expect there to be lots of people from the original cast back. The question is what gets announced and what happens in secret.”
Twin Peaks famously shot in Washington State. While he can’t confirm shooting locations yet, Nevins intends to aim for the original spot of Twin Peaks. “Yes, I expect them to go back to Washington. I think there will be some Washington State filming, there and other places. I would expect it would be in multiple locations.”
Nevins confirmed shooting begins midway through 2015, but could not get more specific. “I don’t know whether it’s going to be April or June or August but in that period.”
