During Blizzcon, Blizzard announced the next character in it’s massive multiplayer title Overwatch with a new cinematic short and an origin story. The new characters name is Elizabeth Caledonia Ashe(Ashe for short) she is the fierce leader of the Deadlock Gang and has a *cough* histrory with Mccree.
In the cinematic we see that Ashe and her gang are looting a passing by locomotive as Mccree is eating in the nearby diner, Mccree then intervenes and the two have a back and forth that sheds a little light on their history. Ashe threatens Mccree with Bob, Ashes sidearm of a friend who was apparently responsible for ripping Mccrees arm off. Mccree then disarms the entire gang including Ashe and sends them back on their way using a payload carrier.
Mccree then opens one of the containers to find that Mccree has been looking for this one particular crate that holds Echo, the next playable character although early in development. Mccree helps her out, and goes along on his way, not before noticing a photo of Ashe and a young Mccree taped to the dash.
Ashe herself is going to be playable very soon being a DPS character featuring a slew of moves such as:
Ashe’s semi-automatic rifle fires quick shots, or she can use her aim-down sights for a more damaging, precise shot.
Ashe throws an explosive that detonates after a short delay or immediately when shot. The explosion from Dynamite also lights enemies on fire, dealing damage over time.
Ashe blasts enemies in front of her, knocking them away and propelling herself backward for added mobility.
Ashe summons her trusted omnic sidekick, B.O.B., who charges forward and knocks enemies into the air, then lays down suppressing fire with his arm cannons.
Needless to say it but the internet is already filled with fanart and love for the new character as it continues the roll that Overwatch has had on with adding in surprise characters that offer a lot more substance inside of its universe.
