Director Josh Boone (“The Fault in Our Stars”) took to his official Instagram to post a picture of the second draft for the X-Men spinoff, “New Mutants”, which he just turned in to producer Simon Kinberg and 20th Century Fox. Back in October 2015, Boone turned in a first draft to Fox which would indicate “New Mutants” is a priority for the studio. Rumors broke out that Maisie Williams from “Game of Thrones” and Anya Taylor-Joy from “The Witch” had already been cast as Wolfsbane and Majik respectively but Fox has since denied those reports.

Fox recently scheduled two untitled Marvel films for October 7th, 2017 and January 18, 2018. The only Marvel film with an official release date is “The Wolverine 3” with Hugh Jackman and director James Mangold which is slated for a March 3rd, 2017 release date. Those two untitled Marvel films could turn out to be Josh Boone’s “New Mutants” and the recently announced “Deadpool 2” with Ryan Reynolds and director Tim Miller returning with original screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick.
