Namtar Here…

Recently, I returned from a trip overseas to visit family.  While I was there, I had a chance to watch “The Avengers.”  I was excited to get a look at the Ultimate’s version of “Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.”  The strange thing is I saw this in a makeshift movie theater projected onto a large blanket.  Even though, I wasn’t treated to the modern luxuries of film viewing, it had its charm.  Reading “The Avengers” since I was a little boy I didn’t think it was possible to make a big screen production, now here it is.  Unfortunately, I was uninspired when I saw it.

Paramount’s “The Avengers” is all special effects and no substance with lots of talking at the beginning and action at the end.  Still zombie thralls of moviegoers will pay money to see this average film.  The question still remains, why did it open overseas first?

Spoiler Alert:

During the end credits of “Thor,” Thor’s adopted brother Loki is seen controlling the mind of Dr. Selvig, while he takes a glimpse at the Cosmic Cube, which is dubbed the Tesseract. Now, in “The Avengers,” the Tesseract is mysteriously activated onboard the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier.  The artifact opens a portal freeing Loki where he plans to mount his war on his brother and Earth using the Tesseract as his weapon of choice.

Fearing a global catastrophe, S.H.I.E.L.D. Commander Nick Fury coerces Tony Stark (Iron Man,) and other superheroes to band together to battle Loki and his alien horde of Chitauri.  A recently thawed Captain America joins the team.  The members of the Avengers fight and argue amongst themselves, and then get their act together long enough to repel Loki and the invading humanoid reptilian army.

Iron Man guides an atomic bomb through the two way portal with the help of the Black Widow and Dr. Selvig.  The bomb hits the Chitauri control ship, and explodes.  The alien army fighting The Avengers is deactivated and collapses to the ground.  Iron Man falls back through the gate and is saved by the Hulk before hitting the ground at maximum velocity.  Hooray for “Earth’s Mightiest Heroes!”  At the end, our heroes go their separate directions to be characters in their own films once again.

This form of storytelling has never been done in the history of motion pictures.  How clever to surprise the intellectual thinking of the audience!  If only it had been done in films such as: “Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace,” or “Independence Day,” it could have made these features masterpieces.

Sincerely, I would definitely wait to find this film in the bargain bin at Big Lots before I watch it again. Anyway, “Prometheus” and “Batman: The Dark Knight Rises” will be out soon, so my disappointment won’t have to last.

“The Avengers” stars:

Robert Downey, Jr. as Tony Stark (Iron Man)

Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner (The Hulk)

Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton (Hawkeye)

Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff (The Black Widow)

Chris Evans as Steve Rogers (Captain America)

Someone is mad cause the Justice League has yet to see the light of say because DC is to busy for sucking Nolan’s dick cause all he does is make crime dramas and replaces the characters with Batman & his supporting cast. OMFG what an amazing DIRECTOR NOLAN IS!

I, for one, have seen this movie twice and am going for a third time this weekend. I’ve found myself somewhat drawn to the action right off the bat (unlike in Iron Man and Captain America); it really gives you something to get excited for.
Perhaps this is my ‘feeble fourteen-year-old mind’ speaking but, I noticed how you only mentioned the things you didn’t like about it and not the things you liked. Yes, some parts are boring but other parts make up for it. Like how the scene where Bruce’s anger gets the best of him in the scene between him and Natasha makes up for a scene where it was rather boring dialouge.
I found this to be a very emotional movie for me because the only two members of the Avengers who stayed with the team since its creation (Thor and Iron Man) almost die and how Phil actually dies.
It seems that you braced yourself for the worst and wrote it in a biased point of view because of that.

It’s good to see an honest review and it’s about what I expected from Joss Whedon. Entertaining but all wise cracks and explosions. Not that it’s a bad thing, but definitely not what the Marketing-Hype-Machine would have us believe.  I’ll wait for the home release.

shouldn’t you be jerking off to Joss Whedon’s picture instead of posting immature loser comments.

Like I’m going to buy The Avengers on DVD lmao

Lmao good one. Now continue to write & dream to be a published author.

      • Spoilz

Now may I point out & I quote “I didn’t right this article you jackass hahahahaha” end quote. What you meant to say was “I didn’t WRITE this article you jackass hahahahaha”. You see that jackass, you used right instead of write. My theories of you were RIGHT, quit trying to be an author… YOUR comic SUCKS & you’ll NEVER be Roland Emmerich or Joss Whedon. Go back to grammer school & hit up a couple of writing seminars while YOU’RE at it. Look I used a CONTRACTION!

I have to disagree with you Namtar. First, the opening scene did not happen on the Helicarrier, it was a S.H.E.I.L.D base. As far as the movie, I’m not sure what you were expecting. Did you want more action, or more dialogue? Did you not want them to bicker amongst themselves (that many egos). Did you want a different plot? I mean, you compare concept to Star Wars and Independence day, as if because the concept is not original, it doesn’t make it a good movie, yet, 99% of movies have concepts that have been done before, just told in a different manner.

I thought the movie was very well scripted, acted, and executed. It’s hard enough to do a movie like it, and I think they nailed it. I heard someone say, It’s like Transformers, but with a brain. Basically, you get the best from each hero and character in forms of action, fight scenes, explosions, but you also get character development and substance from the characters. They aren’t just running into battle, fight, save the day, hooray. No, they went through a process that brought out their weaknesses as well as their strengths.

I guess you went in expecting the Avengers to lose maybe? Because based on your thought, it sounds like that’s what you wanted.

This is for Do You Want Me To Put The Hammer Down?1

Um, no, not really, no. The Avenger initiative was started way before the events of Thor. After the Avengers find out that SHIELD is building WMDs, Fury explains that they only started building the WEAPONS because of the Destroyer coming after Thor in New Mexico. So you really need to get your facts straight so you don’t look like a fool.

I was waiting for one of you unimportant fanboys to claim that you took a “trip overseas” for the weekend to catch the film, instead of, you know, downloading the cam version that’s been floating around all weekend. Do you really think people are that stupid? That is exactly why nobody will ever have any respect for any of you at NTF. Pathetic, all the way around.

To be honest, all the plot details can be taken from the trailers and clips released, plus whatever info you can get from forums (such as the IMDB boards you spam so much)

But lets assume you did watch the movie: It’s still not a review. It’s a recap. Unless you consider that simply saying “Ridiculous, good thing other movies are coming out” is a full fledged review. In which case, you should adapt to the standars and simply state “da movie suxxors LOL u marvel fanboys sux too lmao”

I must step in and mention that yes I did see the film. Here are some more spoilers. Captain America works on a punching bag and flashes back to a point in WWII when he is piloting an experimental plane into the Artic in order to crash it. The wreckage is where they found Captain America at the beginning of Captain America.

Why was the Avengers initiative created? Nick Fury explains in “The Avengers” that when the machine (The Destroyer) landed in New Mexico and began decimating the area, the government realized they needed a team to fight any threat to the planet. That is the reason why “The Avengers” were formed.

This was in the film. Pay your money on this POS, this Friday, and believe.

This isn’t a true review. I have seen it 5 times already and a few of the bits in this are retold wrongly. Next time don’t piece together the movie from internet chatter and then claim you saw it in a 3rd world country on a bed sheet. Lastly …maybe try getting Nolan’s penis out of your mouth.

    that movie sucked too

in fact, until nolan started making films…all movies sucked

which is why, they are all being remade….hopefully by nolan…the god

wanna explain to me why a 20 year old comic had more depth than the movie nolan based it on?
