Ian “Lemmy” Kilmister, frontman for the legendary metal band Motörthead, has died at the age of 70.
The band’s official Facebook page confirmed that Lemmy died of cancer. According to the band’s page, Lemmy had learned of the disease on Dec.26. The band’s page mentioned that he passed away Monday, while playing one of his favorite video games.

We cannot begin to express our shock and sadness, there aren’t words.
We will say more in the coming days, but for now, please…play Motörhead loud, play Hawkwind loud, play Lemmy’s music LOUD.
