In the world of reboots and reimagining of films, the Men In Black franchise has been in talks at Sony for a while now, but it seems that the studio is moving along with not one, not two but a trilogy reboot of the Men in Black.
According to THR, who caught up with producers Walter Parkes and Laurie MacDonald during TIFF 2015. They revealed that the reboot is in the works and also that it would become a trio of films. The two worked on the original films and the animated series, but there was something really interesting that they said in the interview, which you can read below:
PARKES: We’re in the middle of it. It’s very active.
Is Will Smith going to be part of it?
PARKES: Most likely no.
MACDONALD: It will be reinvented as a trilogy.
So it looks like Smith will not be apart of the new films for the moment, and we still have no word on if this affects or helps the chances of the 21 Jump Street crossover with Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill, it could be the crossing point and serve as a soft reboot bringing in a liked franchise such as the <strong>21 Jump street and seeing Tatum and Hill get involved with the new Men in Black, but we will have to wait and see.
