Marvel Studios Have Begun Developing CAPTAIN MARVEL 2

Disney and Marvel Studios have begun actively developing “Captain Marvel 2” for a rumored 2022 release date. Marvel Studios is currently in negotiations with ”WandaVision” screenwriter Megan McDonnell to pen the script.

A source close to Marvel Studios says directors Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, who directed the first “Captain Marvel” film, will not return to helm the sequel. The first “Captain Marvel” film, starring Oscar-winning actress Brie Larson, grossed an impressive $1.3 billion dollars worldwide.

The first film told the story of Kree soldier Carol Danvers crash landing on planet earth and discovers she is not the Kree warrior she was made to believe. Searching for the alien shapeshifters known as Skrulls, Carol, and a younger Nick Fury, become involved in an intergalactic war between the two alien races, the Kree Empire and the Skrulls.

The first “Captain Marvel” was directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck and starred an all-star cast which included Brie Larson (“Room”), Samuel L. Jackson (“Pulp Fiction”), Jude Law (“The New Pope”), Ben Mendelsohn (“Bloodline”), Annette Bening (“The Report”), Lashana Lynch (“A Time To Die”), Djimon Hounsou (“Blood Diamond”), Gemma Chan (“Eternals”), Clark Gregg (“Agents of SHIELD”), and Lee Pace (“Halt and Catch Fire”).
