The stars were out this past Saturday, as the Los Angeles LGBT Community Center hosted the 45th Anniversary Vanguard Awards, where longtime LGBT activists George and Brad Takei along with Marvel Entertainment and Los Angeles County Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky were honored.
George Takei (Star Trek) and Brad Takei accepted the International Vanguard Award, as Marvel Entertainment received the Corporate Vanguard Award and Los Angeles County Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky, received the organization’s Rand Schrader Distinguished Achievement Award.
Some celebrities who joined in on the festivities were Florence Henderson, Lisa Vanderpump and Ken Todd (“Vanderpump Rules”), Elizabeth Henstridge (“Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”), Alex Newell (“GLEE”), Lawrence Pressman and Jay Duplass (“Transparent”), Wilson Cruz (“Red Band Society”), Shane Bitney Crone (EP and star of “Bridegroom”), Barrett Foa (“NCIS Los Angeles”), comedian Bruce Vilanch, DJ Eli Lieb, Wendy Burch (KTLA News Anchor), and Rosa Blasi (The Thundermans).
