As Walter White, Emmy winning actor Bryan Cranston defined himself as a serious actor and true anti-hero on AMC’s “Breaking Bad.” With director Zack Snyder’s “Man of Steel” making serious bank at the box office, the sequel is already in the works and is guaranteed to top the numbers on the original with a Superman/Batman team-up. Rumors have been brewing about Superman’s nemesis Lex Luthor figuring in heavily in the second “Man of Steel” installment. Who will play the bald and anti-alien genius? Apparently, Cranston’s name has been kicked up the ladder and is near the top of the list. So, when asked, Cranston responded to the possibility of playing such a pivotal and high profile role. Here is what he had to say.
“Give me a call,” he says with a grin. “I like Lex Luthor. I think he’s misunderstood. He’s a loveable, sweet man.”
Fans would be thrilled to have Cranston as Luthor, but his wife might not be so enthusiastic about it.
“She wasn’t so keen on the bald head,” Cranston admits. “The bald head ages a man. It’s just that she didn’t know me that way, and the last six years it’s all of a sudden like sleeping with a stranger — who was less exciting than her own husband. So I don’t blame her for being upset.”
“Man of Steel 2” will open in theaters in the summer of 2015. The film will star Henry Cavill and Amy Adams. David S. Goyer will write the screenplay, while Zack Snyder directs.
