For over a decade John Cena has been the face of the WWE. Winning multiple world championships (13 time WWE Champion and 3 time World Heavyweight Champion) Cena has appeared in various films and television shows over the years and now it looks like we might be seeing following in the steps of former nemesis Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as it’s been revealed that Cena is in talks to star in the big-screen adaptation of the popular video game franchise Duke Nukem.
The movie will be produced by Platinum Dunes, the company run by Michael Bay, Andrew Form and Brad Fuller. Neither a script writer or director have been attached to the film, but it seems the search for a script writer will happen soon.
Not your typical hero, Duke Nukem is a mix of various action hero cliches from the 90’s who saves the planet on multiple occasions from invading aliens. John Cena has shown on multiple occasions he is ready to take on different roles, so it will be interesting to see his take on the politically incorrect, wise-cracking, hyper-masculine hero.
John Cena is also set to star in the upcoming Bumblebee movie, a spin-off of the Transformers movie set to release later this year, which is also going to be released by Paramount Pictures.
