Cool that you got a scoop.
Does anyone else think that Stan Lee & Marvel ripped off many of the writers and artist who built their empire? Lee takes credit for just about everything that happened in the Marvel universe and, while I'm no socialist, much of the genius behind the brand was never properly compensated.

Yawning, part of the credit is not b/c the comic book characters are all his creations, but because they likely would not have lived on to the present without him --- at least in their current form.

At one time, Stan Lee was Marvel's [or rather Timely's] only employee, and he brought the business back from the depths of destruction. It was his eye that commisioned many of those artists and scripters to begin with. Lee saved Maervel [Atlas] again when they lost their distributor in the 50's..

Lee's cameos may sometimes be more related to the "Marvel" product then with his own involvement with a specific series, but that is not an unearned position as there likely would be no "Marvel" today had it not been for him.

When I first say the picture when the page loaded, I thought the story was going to be that he had died. I guess Jackson, Fara, and Billy got me paranoid.

.>

That being said, Stan's cameos tend to just pull me out of the movie, and sometimes I feel like he should go away. But him playing an actual character who is an actual person could be interesting and awesome. Especially if he's in make-up. But I do have to wonder, couldn't they have just gotten King to do it on a day off?

Lee's cameos do pull me out of the movie. too bad there aren't any other famous faces of Marvel to use. Sure Stan 'saved' Marvel, but as an artist myself, to me, that's like the owner of a sports team getting credit for the actions of the players. I know Stan wrote many things, but most of his concepts are ridiculous crap and he does seem to get credited for a lot of the work of dead or better contributors.

And he stole jack kirby's wife and pretty much left him penniless and broken when he died. so there's that reason to not like the guy.

Why can't we get a Rob Liefeld cameo where he gets totally blown up or crushed or something- or maybe in captain america, he can be briefly seen as one of the first super soldier test subjects that went horribly wrong where his myscles and body are horribly out of proportion like his terrible drawings? lol

Luis, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. Since you went over to collider.com and acted like a fool, that made people start posting links to that site here. I hadn't even thought about that website for a long time and when I clicked on the link, I see that collider.com has an all new improved layout! Now people don't have any reason to come here anymore. At least over there, you can get reviews a little more intelligent than "It was cool" or "It was gay". Dear God you are an idiot. That's what you call a major backfire, or in internet terms, an EPIC FAIL. Thanks!

Nothing anal about it Loc, but the aliens have no motive. Its never explained. Anywhere. They just land on Earth and start fighting. If you play Gameboy all day then this movie is for you. Lagos Egris' book, "Aristotle's Poetics" explains the simple basics; antagonist and protagonist; they have to have motives. This coming from a guy who set the standards of telling a story and was Plato's protege give or take two thousand years ago. Anyway, I reviewed the "Day the Earth Stood Still" remake before it came out and I called that one as well. A good movie begins with a good script.

Whoops, wrong post. Uncapie has not had his coffee yet. Nice layout, Matt Goldenberg. News is news, its how its told is what counts. A good reporter always gives credit to his sources and checks his facts. Its a big internet world out there and there's plenty of room for movie sites, though it would be a lot more fun help each other rather than go tooth and nail at each other's throats. You seem like a decent guy like our friends at aintitbalenews.com and mansplat.com. Just a thought.
