Variety is reporting that Tom Cruise is joining the action comedy "Wichita," co-starring Cameron Diaz. Sources say that both Cruise and Diaz have approved the screenplay. Cruise will play a secret agent who pops in and out of the life of a single woman. James Mangold will direct. Cruise has circled a number of potential projects since wrapping up "Valkyrie." If he doesn't end up doing "Wichita," he will more than likely do the Len Wiseman thriller, "Motorcade."
