Casting Scoop: Richard Dreyfuss in 'Piranha 3D'

Here is a bit of inside scoop for you today.  Our sources close to all parties involved have just told me that Richard Dreyfuss has been cast in the upcoming remake "Piranha 3-D."

Richard Dreyfuss will reportedly appear in a cameo that will pay homage to "Jaws."  His character will even be drinking Amity brand beer (the setting of "Jaws").  Reportedly, Dreyfuss might be the first character killed off in the new movie.

"Piranha 3-D" is directed Alexandre Aja.  Elisabeth Shue has already signed on to the production, which begins filming in Arizona this month.

Also our sources describe the movie as being "girls gone wild meets piranha."  So expect lots of T & A.

Amazon . . . Arizona . . . I guess there are some species of Piranha that live in the desert now. If you are trying to get away from them, just step out of the water. Why is Richard Dreyfuss doing this film? Wasn't there an offer to make a Krippendorf's Tribe Part 2? If he wants to do a beer commercial, advertise for Bud or Miller's. Jesus, he will probably earn $50,000 for one days worth of shooting. It must be nice. Amity Brand Beer, get it! I was in Jaws remember?
