As we gear up for San Diego Comic-Con in just a few short weeks, we’re excited to learn about a great new documentary titled From The Bridge by director Spencer F. Lee. From The Bridge documents the voyage of fandom from an underground community to the forefront including various genres from sci-fi to horror and also the evolution of comic book characters into the multi-billion dollar force they are now. The documentary is narrated by George Takai and features interviews with Gene Simmons, Stan Lee, Nichelle Nichols, Joe Dante, Doug Jones, Kerry O’Quinn (Co-creator of StarLog and Fangoria magazines) and many more. “Comic-Con favorite Greg Grunberg (Star Trek: Beyond), often nicknamed the “Mayor of Comic-Con”, will serve as moderator for the panel featuring writer-director Spencer F. Lee, Nichelle Nichols, Rod Roddenberry, Kerry O’Quinn, Tom DeSanto, uber cos-player Cecil Grimes and special guests. Following the debut clips which will screen at the start of the Thursday, July 19th 10 am panel, Grunberg will lead a spirited discussion and Q&A on the evolution of science fiction, fantasy, comic book and horror fandom and the positive impact each have had on popular culture.”
