Former Power Ranger, Ricardo Medina Jr., Charged with Murder

Ricardo Medina Jr., who played Deker from Power Rangers Samurai, has been arrested and charged with the 2015 stabbing murder of his roommate.

On Jan. 31, 2015, Medina allegedly got into an argument with his roommate, Josh Sutter, over Medina’s girlfriend. The argument ensued and Medina stabbed Sutter in the chest (ironically enough) with a sword, several times. Medina was arrested after the incident but claimed that it was self-defense and was released.

Medina can face 26 to life in prison.

Ricardo Medina Jr. first appeared in the Power Rangers franchise as red ranger in the Wild Force series. He would then return to the franchise in 2011 for Power Rangers Samurai.
