One of the greatest Disney animated films of all time, The Lion King, is getting an all-new treatment for the new generation with the animated TV movie The Lion Guard: Return of the Roar. The animated film will premiere in November on the Disney Channel and will then lead to a new series The Lion Guard, coming in 2016. Here’s your first look…
Now here’s the part that The Lion King fans are really going to love. In The Lion Guard: Return of the Roar, we will see James Earl Jones reprise his role as a spirit version of Mufasa. Joining James Earl Jones will be Rob Lowe as Simba, Gabrielle Union as Nala and Max Charles will star as their cub, Kion.
Set in the African Savanna, The Lion Guard: Return of the Roar’ follows Kion as he assembles the members of the Lion Guard. Throughout the movie and the series, the diverse team of young animals will learn how to utilize each of their unique abilities to solve problems and accomplish tasks to maintain balance within the Circle of Life, while also introducing young viewers to the vast array of animals that populate the prodigious African landscape
