Back in February when the Fifty Shades sequels were announced we learned that the book’s author E.L. James was demanding more control over the upcoming films and wanted to write the screenplay to the sequels. But now according to THR, James will not be writing the screenplay, but her husband Niall Leonard will. Leonard has been brought on board to write the screenplay for Fifty Shades Darker.

Apparently Leonard did some uncredited work on the script for the first film since James and screenwriter Kelly Marcel were butting heads during the development of the scripts. If that wasn’t enough drama into this franchise, director of the first Fifty Shades film, Sam Taylor-Johnson will not be returning to direct the sequels. Finally the stars of the film Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan are negotiating for larger salaries.
