Releasing on February 15, Far Cry New Dawn will allow players to get their post-apocalyptic fix, this time in Montana’s own Hope County.
Showing off the game’s survival, building, and shooting mechanics, the game looks to offer a gameplay loop similar to Far Cry 5. However, unlike Far Cry 5, Far Cry New Dawn’s setting has a post-apocalyptic twist.
One of the most striking things about the game’s trailer is its use of color. Far Cry New Dawn is extremely colorful for a game that takes place after the apocalypse. Ditching the signature grittiness of other survival-based games, Far Cry New Dawn offers vibrant (including) pastels and dazzling palettes.
Despite this visual brightness, the game still seems like it contains all of the heaviness of a post-apocalyptic jaunt. Throughout the trailer, characters exchange hard-hitting bits of dialogue, including lines like, “the only currency left in this world is power,” and, “welcome to the new natural order.”
