In The Predator (in theaters this weekend), when a young boy accidentally triggers the universe’s most lethal hunters’ return to Earth, only a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and a disgruntled science teacher can prevent the end of the human race.

In the film, Boyd Holbrook (Narcos & Logan) plays Quinn McKenna, an ex-member of the military.

We had a chance to interview Holbrook about the film and his fandom for the franchise.

Here are a few of the highlights.

Question: We announced that we where interviewing you and the big question among our followers was: Who would win in a fight: Logan or The Predator?

Boyd Holbrook: Well, you know, I fought both of them so I have some experience. But I could say this… you may see me in a Predator sequel.

Q: What do you love about the original Predator movie from 1987?

Boyd Holbrook: The original Predator movie was awesome. It was the ultimate guy film with so many superkick a** dudes.

Q: How much respect was given to the original while filming this film.

Boyd Holbrook: Much respect. We tried to keep Stan Winston’s original design.

Q: Shane Black was in the original film, did he share any stories? Also – did he talk about the evolution of the films at all?

Boyd Holbrook: Yeah! Shane would talk about some funny stories plus the evolution of the Predator- different designs and stuff. He knows and respects the source. Also, he would talk about the difference between how things were done then opposed to now concerning the special effects.

He also told us about the time John Claude Van Damme was in the Predator suit.

Q: How do feel? You’re living a dream. From Logan to Narcos to this? You’re so accomplished-so much in little time.

Boyd Holbrook: Blessed! I’m in the fruit of my career. People think it’s been easy but it’s been hard work. I’m glad it’s paying off.
