Due to the massive success/unorganized disaster that was EA Play 2017, Electronic Arts has announced their plans for this years free playable demo event. This years EA Play will take place at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, California from June 9-11. The event promises to offer hands on experiences with beloved EA games such as the latest Battlefield experience, a first look at their highly anticipated upcoming title Anthem, Sims 4, and plenty of their upcoming sports titles.

Last years EA Play, from a professional event standpoint, was an unorganized disaster. Though all announced games were playable, the lines were not capped and the location was incredibly small, making something as simple as playing Star Wars Battlefront 2 was so tedious and difficult, the line was abruptly cut and many of those in line were asked to come back in a few hours. During the 3 hours I was there, I did not get a chance to try a single one of their upcoming titles and was relegated to drinking free energy drinks in the back of the complex like a gremlin. EA has addressed this in their announcement for this years event saying:

Tickets will be available this Spring – and in taking your feedback from last year’s event, we’ll be introducing a new system to give you better hands on access to your favorite games.

Though it remains to be seen whether they stick to that, the location is the same as last year which makes fitting an event of that size with so many guests quite difficult.
