Dagashi Kashi 2 Blu-ray Review
The snack pack is back, and this time they’re bringing the toys…toys and games, that is! Right as things are raring to go, Hotaru suddenly leaves. With the queen gone, the snack kingdom crumbles, and Shikada Dagashi goes from shop to shack. Now it’s up to Kokonotsu to bring it back to life!
Ready to make some serious changes, Kokonotsu’s vision is brought to a halt when a convenience store opens across the way! And the owner has a familiar sense of absurdity that keeps the crew on their toes. Luckily, they gain a new face and a new drive to share the love of dagashi! But will it be enough to keep them afloat while they wait for Hotaru’s anticipated return?

I give Dagashi Kashi 2 a solid B+
Dagashi Kashi 2 picks up 3 months after the previous season ends and picks up on the same note while also changing up the formula, but don’t worry, it’s still a nice treat.
Although each episode has been dialed back to 12 minutes, each one delivers the same 24 minute charm in half the time. This time around a few plots kick in for Kokonotsu who is still trying his best to figure out what he wants in life while being constantly bombarded by crazy girl Hotaru and friends.
The show gives you that rare warm wholesomeness once or twice but the madness is still front and center as each episode usually takes an odd turn and some interesting snack facts ensue. The season may be shorter but binge watching the entire season in one go was all too sweet.
