After a week full of evidence and speculation it has finally been revealed that Treyarch is indeed steering the ship towards Call Of Duty Black Ops 4. The next installment of the Black Ops series is planned for an October 12 release on Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC and will feature a “game changing experience”.
The last Call of Duty title from Treyarch was Black Ops 3 released in 2015 and featured a futuristic setting in which many critics were swift to criticize for the sudden turn towards scifi territory. It remains to be seen if the series will continue to go more towards the future or if it will come back to the near present day. Another question regarding Treyarch is their long running tradition of zombies modes, given that Sledgehammer Games’ Call Of Duty WWII recently had one as well. A Nintendo Switch port has also been rumored, although nothing was announced at this time.
Fans can tune in Thursday, May 17th for the community reveal event for Activision’s next big title.
