Bryan Singer’s CREATURE AT BAY in Development

CAB

Filmmaker Bryan Singer (“X-Men: Days of Future Past”) is known to dabble in television, while working on film projects. Now, riding the Kaiju wave started by Guillermo del Toro’s “Pacific Rim,” and having it about to be kicked up a notch with Gareth Edwards’ “Godzilla” next May, Singer and his Bad Hat Harry Productions will produce “Creature at Bay.”

The Syfy Channel (“Sharknado”) are teaming up with Singer on the drama project, which will be written by John Cabrera, co-creator of the award winning Warner Bros. sci-fi digital series “H+.”

Here is the premise for “Creature At Bay.”

Set in the wake of the US military taking down a giant, rampant creature — a modern-day “Kaiju” monster – just off the Northern California coast. A middle-management Undersecretary from the California Emergency Management Agency is charged with leading the clean-up efforts as the small town becomes the focus of the entire world.

In any case, if Syfy does not pick up the Kaiju-esque pilot as a series, it will probably be folded into the long list of Syfy produced films. Stay tuned for more news.
