In 2016 Overwatch took the world by storm by quickly becoming one of the worlds most popular online shooters. Today during Blizzcon 2019, Blizzard announces the sequel to this smash hit game, with Overwatch 2!
Overwatch 2 is the globe-spanning sequel to Blizzard Entertainment’s acclaimed team-based game, building upon the original’s battle-honed foundation and carrying forward everything players have earned into a new era of epic competition and team play. Square off against rivals in PvP modes, and explore the Overwatch universe firsthand in all new, fully cooperative missions that challenge the world’s heroes to team up, power up, and take on an overwhelming outbreak of threats around the globe.
The gameplay is similar to that of what you have seen in the first game; however, this time players will be treated to more heroes, more maps, and ore modes. All while keeping what made the first game great with it’s characters and maps.
Probably the best news to come from all of this is the progression kept from the first game! Overwatch Game Director Jeff Kaplan Confirmed as much and said, “All progress matters, no one’s getting left behind. We worked so hard to build this community of over 50 million players; the last thing we would ever do is to [split the community].”
No Release date or confirmation of platforms has been announced yet, so stay tuned.
