Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy 4K UHD Review: Directed by Adam M4K

1 min read

It’s time to visit the Whale’s Vagina in 4K. The magnitude of this transfer is enough to distract me from the fact that it’s the film’s 20th anniversary. I covered the original press conference with the cast back then, but it can’t possibly be that long ago.

Anyway, on 4K UHD, San Diego is beautiful and clear. The flashy ‘70s fashion makes you think you’ve stepped into a time warp. By 2004, any “TV footage” in a movie was already digitally constructed so even the fake broadcast signal lines look HD, if not fully 4K. You can see the sweat when they fight absurdly.

The 20th anniversary did not warrant any new bonus features apparently, but the old ones are preserved on the Blu-rays included. While the 4K includes your choice of theatrical or extended version, unfortunately the “lost movie” Wake Up, Ron Burgundy is only available in HD on the Blu-ray. Oh well, at least they never forgot the B-side feature and still include it in the release.
