Focus Home Interactive has put out a new gameplay trailer for A Plague Tale: Innocence, which shows how players can interact and use the dreaded rat swarm. The game takes you on a grim ride through medieval France and features siblings Amica and Hugo.

The trailer shows off a few different ways players will be able to deal with and even use the rat swarm. The rats fester in the night and shy away from light or fire. Players can use that to their advantage to open up new paths that can get them around guards. The trailer had Amica using light beam stations to move the swarm around, even using them to make the rats eat a guard at one point.

Amica is also seen crafting firebombs that she can use to light lanterns and move rats out of an area. Light crafting appears to play a big part in A Plague Tale. Amica can do some quick crafting when she’s out in the streets, but we also see her use a crafting station toward the end of the trailer.

A Plague Tale: Innocence is out on May 14 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
