The Broadway musical is about three hours long, including intermission. While the new wicked movie is in two parts. Part one to be released this year, and part two to be released next year. And each part is close to three hours long. So the movies will have a lot more time to delve deeper into the “Wicked” characters and story. And, fingers crossed, that’s a good thing.
