Instead of waiting and hoping to see a foreseeable start date for J.R.R. Tolkien’s “The Hobbit,” director Guillermo del Toro has left the project and producer Peter Jackson behind in favor of making, “At the Mountains of Madness” with James Cameron. “At the Mountains of Madness” is based on a novella written by horror writer H. P. Lovecraft.
Recent surgeries in his battle with cancer have left the esteemed film critic Roger Ebert without the ability to speak. However, in what must be a bout of overcompensation, he not only continues to work but has become even more prolific with his writing. While this is good news on many fronts it also means he pumps out material that is not centered exclusively on movies. A reader, attending the Second Annual Power Morphicon (A Power Rangers Convention) in Pasadena, California, tells NuketheFridge.com that actor Vernon Wells (The Road Warrior, Commando) was overheard saying that he has been cast in The Expendables 2. According to Wells, Arnold Schwarzenegger’s character Trench will take a more central role in the sequel.
