Normally when compiling the list of the worst of summer’s offerings you have to make a few tough decisions in order to come up with ten titles worthy of listing as having no worth. Well the summer of 2010 was an exception. It seemed in short order that as the heat rose outside the quality of movies dropped inside theaters. Some film journalists noted the poor nature of a surprising number of films, and as it turns out they were not simply being a bunch of cranks. Ten titles were easily picked for this list – and it was still only June!
Namtar here with a bit of exciting horror movie news … Actor/Director and B-movie horror legend Bruce Campbell is slated to make the ultimate in horror films dubbed “Bruce vs. Frankenstein.” The film is a sequel to “My Name is Bruce.” A lot of fans were crestfallen by the news that he dropped out of the production of “Bubba Nosferatu: Curse of the She-Vampires.” Campbell went on to say that fans will not be disappointed in his decision.
A few days ago, AICN started a rumor that Stan Lee was going to film a cameo in an upcoming “Dr. Strange” movie. Fortunately, we at Nuke the Fridge are friends with Stan Lee’s event coordinating staff members. So, we decided to call Stan’s people to get to the bottom of things.
A Yankee and a Mexican battle it out for the top spot, and they nearly get toppled by a derivative holdover in its second round. The last weekend of the summer is traditionally a weak one for receipts, as families tend to do things that bond them together a little more than sitting silent in the dark for a couple of hours. They certainly didn’t want to watch Drew Barrymore fall in love with her on-again off-again real life lover Justin Long.
