That is the episode that introduces scientist Dr. Rudy Jones (William Mapother), a.k.a. Parasite, to the Arrowverse. Parasite is one of Superman’s most menacing antagonists from the comics. At the end of the episode, Supergirl was able to defeat Parasite by having it absorb Plutonium-239 — which caused it to explode. You can see how they blended digital and practical effects for that explosive moment.
