Marvel’s Inhumans Television Show Finally Coming Out Of MCU Limbo! For years now, Marvel has been planning great things for their Inhumans franchise. When the MCU’s Phase 3 films were announced, many were surprised to see the Inhumans getting their own film. Then when they showed up on Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., there were expectations that Marvel Studios and Marvel Television would bring more of the movie heroes to the small screen. Unfortunately, both divisions went in completely different directions. The Inhumans project disappeared from Marvel Studios and moved to Marvel Television for a TV show for ABC. Confirmed for a limited eight episode run, the Inhumans will debuts exclusively in IMAX theaters, for a two week run on September 1, 2017. Following its theatrical debut, it will then premiere on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 on ABC networks and air every Tuesday thereafter. Inhumans is not a spinoff of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, so there won’t be much, if any, crossover. The synopsis reads as follows: “After the Royal Family of Inhumans is splintered by a military coup, they barely escape to Hawaii where their surprising interactions with the lush world and humanity around them may prove to not only save them, but Earth itself.” There’s no mention of the Attilan, the Inhuman homeland, so we have no idea how or why the Inhuman Royal family makes its way to Hawaii. With The Defenders on Netflix, New Warriors on Freeform, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D and now the Inhumans on ABC, it seems that Marvel is looking to conquer the television market the same way they have conquered cinema.
