TweetEmailIt looks like we are getting a new Marvel show on a new network for Marvel! Freeform, formerly ABC Family, has green-lighted a full ten-episode season of Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger. Previously, not a lot was known about Cloak and Dagger. We know the two leads, Aubrey Joseph and Olivia Holt. We also know a bit about the characters they both play: Once a privileged little girl, Tandy Bowen watched as her family was destroyed by a disastrous storm that uprooted her life. Now in her late teens, an unexpected encounter with a boy named Tyrone sparks a life changing event. Young Tyrone Johnson wanted nothing more than to prove he was fearless. But when everything he held close was taken away, life taught Tyrone to be afraid. Now older and more sheltered, Tyrone closes himself off. But when he meets a girl named Tandy But now we have been given a bit more about the show. Senior vice president for Disney Distribution, Mark Endẽmano, gave the attendees on the MIPTV event to low down on the latest Marvel show: “Cloak & Dagger is about character and emotion above all. It tells of a romance between Tandy and Tyrone in a way that we haven’t really seen before in a Marvel TV series. So think Romeo and Juliet though I can tell you that they won’t be dying at the end of the first episode!” Endẽmano also revealed that the budget Cloak and Dagger will be the same as the Marvel Netflix shows. This is interesting because the Netflix shows are usually 13 episodes and C&D is only ten, meaning we may see some amazing visual effects in this series! Cloak’s aperture to the dark dimension and Dagger’s light daggers should be pretty impressive! Look for Marvel to start ramping up the two characters as they move forward to what looks like either a winter 2017 release or a more than likely spring 2018 debut. We’ll keep you updated as new C&D news emerges from the dark dimension!
