Iron Fist is Second Biggest Marvel On Netflix!

Believe it or not, top premiere streaming data belongs to Marvel’s Luke Cage. Iron Fist is second. The results were gathered by independent company Parrot Analytics.

The critics savaged Iron Fist so much that I put off watching it. But I recently caught almost all of the episodes and don’t think it deserved to be savaged that brutally. I am a fan of the comics so I was initially put off by the casting of Finn Jones as Danny Rand, but he grows on you. Colleen Wing was excellent. Sure I have my criticisms too, but I was surprised how much I liked the show from the very first episode. It showed growth and change and hinted at what might be possible for Danny and the Defenders, so I was satisfied.

Full disclosure, I hated Luke Cage and loved Jessica Jones, so take that into consideration. I did feel like Night Nurse Rosario Dawson was forced – just showing up at Colleen’s Dojo and then being able to kill people. I also recognized Jessica Stroup as Joy Meacham from her Beverly Hills 90210 remake days ( hey I like pop culture, ok).

Iron Fist was developed by showrunner Scott Buck. It stars Finn Jones, Jessica Henwick (Colleen Wing), David Wenham (Harold Meachum), Jessica Stroup (Joy Meachum) Tom Pelphrey (Ward Meachum) and Rosario Dawson (Claire Temple). The basic premise – fifteen years after being presumed dead in a plane crash, Danny Rand mysteriously returns to New York determined to reclaim his birthright and family company. However, when a long-destined enemy rises in New York, this living weapon is forced to choose between his family’s legacy and his duties as Iron Fist.

Bring on the Defenders . . . I’ve got my bucket of popcorn and remote control ready.
