‘LEGO Star Wars: Droid Tales’ DVD Review Chris Salce March 1, 2016 LEGO Star Wars: Droid Tales tells the Star Wars saga, through the eyes of C-3PO and R2-D2. While reminiscing in the Ewok village of Endor, a kidnapping happens and leads to a retelling of the Star Wars saga from The Phantom Menace all the way to The Return of the Jedi. In this retelling, you get to see all your favorite Star Wars characters, even the newest additions from Star Wars Rebels. I really love the LEGO Star Wars franchise. They make these movies and series like a parody version of the Star Wars films. What can be better than having LucasFilm Ltd. doing parodies of their own films? This Droid Tales mini-series is just as funny as the rest in the franchise The DVD consists of all five episodes, which gives it a 115 minute runtime, and each second is entertaining for all ages. Though this in-home DVD release does not have any special features, it has something very cool that comes with it. Included with the DVD is an exclusive trading card set. There are three different sets of three cards each to collect. As a fan of Star Wars and pop culture in general, I love that the Star Wars franchise had always been heavily involved with trading card collecting. I wish that trading card collecting be as big once again, as it was in the 70’s through the mid 90’s. Also included are Disney Rewards points. Both the exclusive trading cards and rewards points are bonuses in themselves. The packaging of the DVD is also pretty cool. It comes with a foiled cardboard protective cover with 3D texture. It makes the DVD box art grab your attention. I give the Lego Star Wars: Droid Tales DVD 9 fridges out of 10. Lego Star Wars: Droid Tales arrives on DVD March 1.
