Rumors: Harrison Ford Agrees to EPISODE VII Only if INDIANA JONES 5 Happens? Chris Salce October 28, 2013 Rumors have been going back & forth when it comes to Star Wars: Episode VII. Rumors on the title, to rumors on the plot but most rumors have been about who will be cast in the upcoming film. The rumors get even more interesting, especially when it comes to Harrison Ford. Harrison Ford & Benedict Cumberbatch did an interview recently on a UK show called the Graham Norton Show. On the interview, Norton goes right into asking Ford if he would be in the upcoming Star Wars film. Ford seemed like he didn’t know what to say with a bunch of stuttering & mumbles then looks at Cumberbatch, which he tells Ford, “well I think it’s safe to say you’re in it.” Ford then whispers to Cumberbatch saying “but why is it safe?” Ford then gets asked again & his reply was literally jibberish & he quickly changed the subject to talk about how big of a fan he is of Cumberbatch. Norton then asks Cumberbatch (who has also been rumored to be in the film) the same question & Cumberbatch pretty much has the same exact reply back to Norton, a bunch of jibberish. It’s pretty hilarious to watch how much they obviously & awkwardly tried to avoid the Star Wars questions. Today, a site called Jedinews.com, reported that not only is Harrison Ford coming back as Han Solo, but there apparently has been a deal made that in order for Ford to come back, Ford would have to be assured that Han Solo would live passed Episode VII as well as Ford being assured that progress would be made on Indiana Jones 5. Here is the “verbal agreement” that the site has posted: “Ford wanted to see the synopsis for his character’s development over more than just Episode 7. He saw this in August and is happy with the story arc.” “Ford wanted a commitment to Indy 5. He did not get this as there is no plot line or script in place. What did happen was an agreement was made wherein an outline would be developed by the end of calendar year 2014, and if all parties can agree to it moving forward, efforts would be made to move on Indy 5 for release before the end of 2016.” “Disney wanted a multi film deal with Ford which transcends Episode 7. This has now been agreed.” Now before anyone jumps the “blaster” of course, none of this has been confirmed by Disney nor has it been confirmed by Lucasfilm (which the site also notes). So for now, this just adds to the rumors but makes it even more quite interesting now that Indiana Jones 5 is thrown into the mix.
