Louis Love here …

Yesterday we asked our Facebook fan’s to submit reviews for “The Walking Dead” Season 3, Episode 2. After sorting out throw the submissions I picked one that was written by a reader that calls himself “Manifatso.” Check it out below and tell us what you think.

(The Walking Dead Intro Voice) This week on… The Walking Dead…

The writers try to improve Lori’s reputation by referencing internet smack and giving her full credit for Herschel’s recovery. Rick gives Lori a pat on the back. Most of the prisoners die. Blah, blah, blah.

(Intro over)

Seriously though I cringed when I heard Lori say she wasn’t going to win any “Mother of the Year” awards. Yes, we know that writers and TV executives live for praise and complain about having haters when their ego isn’t stroked just like any other 14 year-old girl on Facebook. But last night’s little bitchfest was annoying. They tried to redeem her and obviously failed in my eyes.

I felt let down by last night’s episode. Not in a snobby “entertain me” sort of way. I just felt it was a big waste of time. They could’ve made the prisoners three dimensional instead of what seemed like a means to an end. Maybe they learned from the long and tired Rick vs. Shane thread from the past two seasons and decided not to milk this new Rick vs. Tomas angle too long so they had Rick take a machete to Tomas’ dome. Perhaps that is why they decided not to go “there.” Seems like the more time you spend watching the show, the more you grow to dislike each character.

Worst prisoners ever.

None of the other prisoners deserve mentioning. But I don’t know who to pin this on. Do I blame the writers for giving them no service or do I blame the actor for not making me feel anything? Tomas easily had the potential for season long fakery. First look and you see this guy was an a$$hole and nothing more. His entire run on the show was nothing more than confirmation of this. His death just felt like tossing aside a good potential thread. The two prisoners that were left alive post machete-to-Tomas’ head scene aren’t a big deal. I’m certain they will be back at one point for some sort of pay off. Sophia is dead so we can only guess who the prisoners are going to come back to screw with.

So Carol is epic now? Apparently while the show was on hiatus Hershel gave Carol a brain, taught her lots of medical who-ha, and now she is the best doctor since Gregory House. I like that Carol has more of a personality now. She’s a healer, she cracks jokes. Seriously, I count two jokes this season so far.

1. In the first episode, Carol jokes with Daryl about boning on top of the bus while he was on watch.

2. She told Lori she looked like crap in a friendly manner to provide levity while looking over Hershel.

For all my bitching she is evolving, which is great. During a Zombie Apocalypse the last thing people want to be around is someone that mopes around all day. On the run all day, no TV, no computers, and no X-Box. I don’t want to hear some broad moan about her crappy husband or her dead daughter. So props to the writers for breathing life into her character this season.

Now, if they can somehow figure out how to use T-Dog we will be in business. Right now he is basically farm equipment. I know this is set in Georgia, but slavery ended a long ass time ago. The only thing they have T-Dog doing is risking his life killing zombie’s while trying to take over cell blocks or moving and burning zombie carcasses.

For all my complaining I will say that even though I thought Tomas’ death was a waste, the machete to the head was a worthy death. It’s not in the league with last episodes face peel, but I found it enjoyable. The story did move forward (one inch is more than nothing.)

I am looking forward to next week’s episode. Two words…

The Governor!
