According to the website Deadline, director Matt Reeves, who is well-known for helming ”Cloverfield” and “Let Me In,” is officially set for the difficult task of directing the follow-up to “Rise of the Planet of the Apes.”
After some Hollywood drama with the original director, Rupert Wyatt, the studio has switched over to Reeves. Rumor has it that Wyatt had disagreements with the production and release schedule.
Although little is known about the film, we do know that writers Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver have completed the first draft of the screenplay. The movie will continue the story of the extremely intelligent chimpanzee named Caesar (Andy Serkis.)
“Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” is scheduled to be released on May 23rd, 2014.
