At Comic-Con 2012, Guillermo Del Toro voiced his doubts on converting movies into 3D, which has been shown to be a popular form of entertainment by the fans even with the price increase of admission from the standard version. He planned on not releasing his next film ”Pacific Rim” in 3D, but it looks like Warner Bros. has “strong-armed” Del Toro into accepting their terms.
This won’t impact the movie’s July 12th, 2013 release date, but you can only imagine how it will affect Del Toro’s work ethic by being forced to support a format he didn’t intend to use. The film will be converted to 3D in post-production. Regardless, from the debut of the video and everything discussed at Comic-Con 2012, it still looks amazing.
