Last week we posted about how Beverly Hills Cop 4 was not going to happen but instead it would be pitched as a TV Show. Today, after pitching the show to numerous stations, CBS has issued a pilot commitment for the series.
Eddie Murphy, Marney Hochman, and Shawn Ryan (“The Shield,” and the upcoming Last Resort) will be working on the script for the pilot which shifts focus from Axel Foley to his son Aaron Foley who is a a Beverly Hills police officer. He has some pretty big shoes to fill as his father is now the Chief of Police and is a living legend.
How will the new TV show live up to the original trilogy? We can only imagine, but since Eddie Murphy will have a big role to fill both on screen and behind the scenes, we can expect to hear the iconic laugh of Axel Foley once again when the show airs on CBS sometime in 2013.
