Nuke the Fridge is proud to announce the first ever Pop Con (Popular Culture Convention.) Pop Con LA will run concurrently with and be hosted by ITVfest (International Television Festival) at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
Pop Con will feature a multitude of activities and events. Among the many exhibitors, there will be comic books, fashion shows, movie memorabilia, a cosplay contest (hosted by Tanya Tate) , artists, novels, music, industry panels, live bands, film screenings, and celebrity signings.
Come see screenings of “Superman II” and “Blade Runner” with members of the cast holding a question and answer panel afterward. Also, a Star Trek Panel will be held with Tim Russ (Tuvok from “Star Trek: Voyager”), and Marina Sirtis (Counselor Troi from “Star Trek: The Next Generation.”)
In addition, the following celebrity guests will be signing at Pop Con: Billy Dee Williams (“Empire Strikes Back,” “Batman”), Michael Biehn (“Terminator,” “Aliens”), Bruce Boxlietner (“Babylon 5,” “Tron”), James Hong (“Blade Runner,” “Big Trouble in Little China”), Martin Kove (“The Karate Kid,” “Rambo”), Margot Kidder (“Superman I-IV”), Tony Curran (“Underworld: Evolution,” “X-Men: First Class”), Stephanie Erb (“True Blood”), and several members of “The Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers.” (Get your VOUCHERS now for the VIP signing lines by emailing Frank@PopConLA.com.)
As an added bonus, the Tim Russ’ band “Chapter 5″ will take the stage on Friday, July 6th at 8:00 p.m. to rock the house. Also, on Sunday July 8th, the ITVfest/STTV Awards will be held. Be there!
So when and where is Pop Con? Pop Con will be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center beginning on Thursday, July 5th through Sunday, July 8th. The doors open at 10:30 a.m. and close at 6:00 p.m., but the screenings, fashion shows, bands, and comedians will go as late as 10:00 p.m. Tickets are only $20.
