Michael ‘MPsy’ here…
This past weekend the Anaheim Convention Center hosted the second annual AM2 (which stands for Animation, Manga, and Music). Triple the amount of attendees from last year’s first day swarmed the second year convention, which by the way is absolutely free! But attendees are able to buy something called a passport which allows the attendee access to all of the conventions musical events, priority line access, better seats, discounts, and etc. Plus, on top of all that it’s also a fair bit cheaper than most three day convention badges as well.
“This is such an amazing time for our attendees and exhibitors,” states Chase Wang AM2 organizer, “The rooms are packed, the exhibit hall and artist alley tables busy with attendees hungry to get their anime/manga/fashion fix! Its not too late to come join us and have the time of your life!”
The weekend was packed with things to do, such as guest of honor activities, autograph sessions, panels, workshops, film premieres, concerts, and fashion shows. One of the highlights of the convention for myself was the huge artist alley which showcased a number of talented artists and crafters. The guest of honors this year included Andrea Libman (My Little Pony and Dragon Ball), Hiroshi Nagahama (Sexy Command-Gaiden Sugoiyo! Masaru-San and Ojamaru), Putumayo (fashion designers), Quinton Flynn (Metal Gear Solid and Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children), Sixh.OPERA (Sixh), Tara Strong (Hello Kitty and Teen Titans), and Toshihiro Kawamoto (Cowboy Bebop and Wolf’s Rain). Personally I had a blast at the convention and to those who were unable to make it make sure to mark it on your calendars next year! Meanwhile check out the photos of the convention below and the CONquest video coverage by ‘You Know Whaaa!‘.
