It looks like James Badge Dale (24 and The Pacific) has joined the cast of ‘Iron Man 3′ in the role of U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel Eric Savin who later becomes the deadly cyborg known as Coldblood (at least in the comics he does).
There’s no official word yet if the character of Eric Savin is Coldblood or will become the cyborg in the film.
For those unfamiliar with the character of Coldblood, Lieutenant Colonel Eric Savin was put in charge of a project known as Ultra-Tech. One day while on patrol Savin steps onto a land mine which blows him apart. While dead for 2.3 minutes he was given immediate surgery and brought back to life as a cybrog. He then becomes an urban soldier cyborg who operates as a freelance mercenary. Interestingly enough he has never appeared opposite of the character Tony Stark in the comics.
Iron Man 3 is set to begin shooting this month in North Carolina and will later move onto China later this summer.
Iron Man 3 hits theaters on May 3, 2013. Starring Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, Ben Kingsley, Jessica Chastain, and James Badge Dale. The film is directed by Shane Black.
