A video has hit the Internet showing Kevin Costner (“Waterworld”) on the set of “Superman: Man of Steel.” “Pa” Kent is exiting a jeep and making his way up to the family homestead, while kids run by like gadflies in the background. A videographer (a guy with a cell phone) hiding in the cornfield has captured this monumental albeit mundane moment in the Man of Steel’s personal life. Warning, this has been referred to as “spy video,” but it is blurry. Unfortunately, if you build a Hollywood set anywhere, the paparazzi will come, even if they have to use their cell phones to capture any precious moments.
“Superman: Man of Steel” is currently shooting in Iowa. It is expected to land in theaters on June 14th, 2013. Actor Henry Cavill will play Clark Kent/Superman. Other members of the cast include Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Amy Adams, Michael Shannon, Antje Traue, Lawrence Fishburne, Russell Crowe, Julia Ormond, Henry Lennix, and Christopher Meloni. The screenplay is written by David S. Goyer (“Batman Begins”), which is based on a story created by David S. Goyer and Christopher Nolan. Zack Snyder (“Watchmen,” “300”) directs.
Actually, I find a guy hiding in a cornfield who can’t hold his cell phone still more intriguing. Namtar out!
