Chicago was the backdrop used for Gotham City in “Batman Begins,” and “The Dark Knight.”  Now Warner Bros. has decided to switch locations and use Los Angeles, and the United Kingdom to film the third installment of the Batman Trilogy a.k.a. “The Dark Knight Rises.”

Warner Bros. Senior Vice President of Production Ravi Mehta went on to say:

“I know they are going to the UK, LA and there will be a third city,” said Ravi Mehta. Asked about New Orleans, Ravi Mehta replied, “Well, I’m sure! Why not, right? You’ve guys have got great incentives and [we’ve had] positive experiences in Louisiana.”

The question is, what is wrong with Chicago?  Gotham City is implied in the DC Comic Books as being Chicago, while Metropolis is New York City.  What are your thoughts on this matter?

“The Dark Knight Rises” will be released on July 20th, 2012.  The film will star Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, Gary Oldman and Tom Hardy.  Christopher Nolan directs the film.
